Workshops, private sessions and research laboratories exploring tango through presence, listening and creative movement — from traditional tango to experimental approaches that expand its possibilities.
Tango is often approached through steps, patterns and established figures. In Tango Labs, we explore tango as a creative system: a dialogue between bodies, music and imagination.
The practice develops along two interconnected paths.
The first explores tango within its traditional forms, deepening connection, musicality, sensitivity and expressive possibilities. Technique becomes a flexible tool that allows dancers to develop greater awareness, freedom and a more personal way of interpreting the dance.
The second path explores tango as a field for experimentation. By deconstructing its fundamental elements — embrace, weight, walking, listening, relationship and improvisation — we investigate new ways of creating movement, opening a dialogue with practices such as Contact Improvisation and other contemporary movement approaches.
Tango Labs invites each dancer to discover a personal relationship with tango: one rooted in its tradition while remaining open to transformation.

My approach to tango has developed through more than twenty years of teaching, performance and artistic research.
Throughout this journey, I have explored tango not only as a social dance, but as a practice connected to the body, identity, improvisation and collective creation.
Through movement research and different artistic collaborations, I have investigated how tango can become a space for experimentation, where technique, expression and human connection meet.
Drawing from tango’s diverse history as a mestizo cultural expression, Tango Labs understands dance as a living practice: constantly evolving through the bodies, contexts and communities that create it.
Developed from this long-term artistic journey, Tango Labs brings together pedagogy, research and the living tradition of tango into a practice that encourages creativity, awareness and personal expression.

Tango Labs can be approached according to each participant’s interests and experience:
Tango Development
For dancers who want to deepen their tango practice while remaining within its traditional language, developing greater connection, musicality, expression and freedom.
Experimental Tango & Movement Research
For those interested in expanding tango beyond established forms, exploring improvisation and creating new movement possibilities through the dialogue between tango and contemporary practices.
Both approaches share the same foundation: understanding tango not as a fixed collection of movements, but as a living language that each person can inhabit and transform.
Tango Labs is open to:
No previous tango experience is required.

Tango Labs can travel through collaborations with festivals, cultural organizations, schools, dance communities and artistic programs.
I offer modular formats ranging from 2-hour workshops to intensive 5-day research laboratories, shaped according to the context, interests and experience of each group.
