Tartufeta, against neo-liberal and neoliberal politics
(free version of Tartuffe by Diego E. RodrĂguez)
Notes for the version:
Tartufeta was born as an artistic reaction to the impact produced by the first neoliberal triumph in the ballot boxes of the Argentine Republic in 2015. To the neoliberal government of Brazil and Paraguay; and to the neoliberal dictatorship of Honduras, among all the calamities that neoliberalism produces daily in its destructive and destructive ambition of the planet.
Moliere's Tartuffe came to my memory as a mirror that shows the trap of which we were and are victims: "morality" as a banner of predators.
The version, gaucho and musical, was born to directly link this universal tragicomedy with our national reality. What is produced emerges as an effect of another look, one more distanced from the initial motive, which allowed to intuit responsibilities and knottings between the different political actors, who also made possible the advent of the new plague of Thebes.
